Who can benefit from a massage?

Anyone and everyone! As a trained massage therapist in Surrey, I offer both remedial and sports massages under one roof.

Sports massages are more focused on addressing muscular imbalances and injuries common experienced by athletes or people with physically demanding lifestyles. They make use of gentle pressure, targeted strokes and targeted stretching to improve performance, prevent injuries and promote recovery. I also include taping for injuries if necessary.

Remedial massages, on the other hand, are more general and are suitable for anyone experienced muscular tension, pain or dysfunction, whether that's due to an acute injury or chronic condition. It - instead focuses on alleviating pain related to daily activities or stress, all while helping the client to physically and mentally unwind.

Frequently Asked Questions about my remedial and sports massages in Surrey

Where do you work?

I visit and treat clients in the comfort of their home or place work in a 30-mile radius from Weybridge, covering most of Surrey and even areas of southern London such as Wimbledon. My only requirement is that there must be parking by your house.

I am able to travel slightly further in the event I will be treating more than one client at an address. If you're not sure if you fall into these criteria, please get in touch.

What should I expect?

I will come to your house or place of work with a portable physio couch, along with a questionnaire about your medical history if it's our first treatment together.

The treatment will include massages, soft tissue manipulation, stretching, trigger point therapy and, at the end, stretching exercises to maintain the results from the treatment and post-treatment home care.

For home visits, please provide you own 2 pillow and 2 large towels; I will provide my own pillows, towels and couch roll for office visits.

How long are the sessions?

I offer 45-minute, 1-hour, 90-minute and 2-hour slots for home visits.

I also offer 30-minute slots for workplace visits, if I will be treating multiple clients. Many office workers suffer from neck problems, so a single 30-minute massage is ideal for effectively treating a single targeted area.

What if I have to cancel a treatment?

Sometime life gets in the way – We have all cancelled a scheduled appointment due to an unprecedented event or illness. In the event you need to cancel a session, please provide as much notice as possible so that another client can use your slot.

In the interest of fairness, I enforce a 24-hour cancellation policy. If you cancel with less than 24 hours of notice, I may need to level a charge of £25.

Am I able to have a treatment if I have a cold or am not feeling well?

Unfortunately not, as this would be a contraindication to the treatment. You are better off waiting until you feel better.

Do I need a referral from a doctor?

No, this is not required. You may, however, want to consult your GP if you have any underlying medical conditions or significant pain before starting a new treatment.

What should I wear?

Please wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows for easy access to the area you want me to target.

Will the massage hurt?

You may experience some discomfort, especially if you have especially tight muscles, but it should not be anything more than this. Please communicate any intense or sudden pain you may experience during the treatment, so that I can adjust the pressure accordingly.
